Jamestown preparing for annual Lakefest celebration; hazardous duty for police officers could begin in October

The Jamestown City Council met last night.

Mayor Regena Hinton said the city is putting on the final touches in preparation for the annual Lakefest celebration, which is just two weeks away. Hinton also said city officials continue to work on logistics to transition the city’s police officers to hazardous duty retirement.

Lakefest will take place on the Jamestown Square on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.
