Florida man charged with robbery following incident at Columbia Walmart

A Florida man is charged with robbery second degree following an incident at Walmart in Columbia yesterday.

Columbia Police say it happened yesterday morning at around 9:15. They say a man, identified as 28-year-old Ja’Michael Antonio Butler of Lauderhill, Florida, allegedly concealed unpaid merchandise while inside the store.

Police allege when Butler attempted to leave the store, he made physical contact with and pushed a Walmart employee who was attempting to intervene.

Butler was located at a nearby business by Columbia Police and arrested without incident. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
