Fiscal court approves equipment purchases, grant funds for recycling center

The Russell County Fiscal Court met in special session this morning, approving the purchase of a cardboard trailer and grant funds for equipment at the recycling center.

Russell County Judge Executive Randy Marcum provided WJRS News with more details.

The county is receiving a 50/50 match grant from the Division of Waste Management for the roll-offs.

Russell County was one of 36 recycling applications from across the commonwealth to be approved for state funding from the Division of Waste Management.

The funding comes from state dollars approved through the Kentucky Pride Fund.
