Columbia Man Faces Meth and Drug Paraphernalia Charges

A Columbia man was arrested on drug and traffic charges following a traffic stop Tuesday night.

Columbia Police Chief Evan Burton says Officer Colton Nunn stopped a vehicle shortly after 10:30 p.m. on South Highway 55.

During the roadside investigation, officers reportedly discovered suspected crystal methamphetamine and items believed to be drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

The driver, 37-year-old Ever Ojeda Peralta of Columbia, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no operator’s license and having a rear license plate that was not illuminated.

He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
