The Jamestown City Council met last night in a short meeting.
Mayor Regena Hinton was out-of-town and unable to attend the meeting, so councilman Tony Wright made a motion for councilman Barry Coffey to serve in the mayoral role for the meeting due to him being the longest-serving council member.
The council approved state road aid money totaling around $35,000. City Clerk Tyler McGowan said during the meeting he was told the amount of road aid money was slightly lower due to the temporary cut to the state gas tax. Last year, the amount received by the city was around $43,000.
