Groundbreaking for sensory play space at The Green at RCPL postponed

The groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for this weekend for the Woodland Farm Foundation Sensory Play Space at Russell County Public Library has been postponed due to expected rainfall.

The Woodland Farm Foundation Sensory Playspace will be a nature-inspired, inclusive outdoor play environment designed for children of all abilities. It is the second phase of The Green at RCPL.

The project is made possible through a generous investment by the Woodland Farm Foundation.

A new date for the groundbreaking ceremony will be announced as soon as it is available.

Russell County Public Library Director Cody Gabehart released the following statement:

“This morning I knew we needed two things. A beautiful celebration that reflects the vision and generosity behind this project, and rain. It looks like we are going to get the rain first. But we look forward to gathering everyone and celebrating this milestone in a way that honors what this space represents for Russell County.”
