“I feel like it’s just starting to show a little bit more now. But I mean, that’s one of my favorite parts of being a high level athlete, just inspiring the younger generation, and especially little girls,” said the Kentucky signee. “I love doing little camps like that and helping out young kids. I feel like that’s one of the best things I can do.”
Swords’ role model growing up in Canada was her sister, Syla, a sophomore basketball player at Canada.
“A lot of people find their older siblings to be the coolest people but that’s just the way she really is,” Savvy Swords said. “She had gone through all of these (all-star) games and then had an amazing first two seasons at Michigan. I like how humble she has stayed and doesn’t change one bit.
“There’s nothing crazy, no ego boost, nothing. She is still so down to earth. I already looked up to her when I was little just for her being my older sister, but now seeing how she carries herself, it’s really inspiring.”
