Crews continue to battle a large wildfire in nearby McCreary County.
The fire was first reported on Sunday and was initially reported to only cover about four acres in the Daniel Boone National Forest. However, the fire quickly expanded to cover around 650 acres. Officials say the fire is adjacent to the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area.
The fire is believed to be about 20 percent contained, as crews continue to work in the area.
The forest service said more than 80 personnel are supporting firefighting operations and helicopters are being used to try to suppress the fire.
