Columbia man arrested, charged with sodomy and sexual abuse of minor

A Columbia man was arrested Wednesday on charges including sodomy and sexual abuse of a minor.

80-year-old Fred Kerns was arrested by Kentucky State Police Wednesday afternoon. He was charged with two counts each of sodomy first degree and sexual abuse first degree – victim under 12 years of age.

Kerns was lodged in the Adair Count Regional Jail at around 2:20 Wednesday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
