RCMS Wrestling has strong showing in first competition of season

The Russell County Middle School wrestling team competed in its first competition of the season at the Bruin Brawl at Central Hardin Middle School this weekend.

The team had a total record of 27-21 and finished 11th out of 24 teams competing.

The Lakers were led by Zac Mullins, who finished the day 4-2 and placed 4th in the 129-pound weightclass as well as Liam Boreing, who went 3-1 on the day and finished 2nd place in the 101-pound weight class.

The middle school team will be back in action at McCreary County Middle School on December 4. The high school varsity team will be in action at Adair County on December 9.
