Columbia man arrested after reportedly attempting to stab woman

A Columbia man was arrested early yesterday morning after reportedly attempting to stab a woman.

According to Columbia Police, 34-year-old Fidel Gomez was arrested and charged with burglary second degree, wanton endangerment first degree, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Police say they were called out early yesterday to the property previously known as the Dreamland Motel due to a man, later identified as Gomez, attempting to stab a woman. Officers were able to apprehend Gomez before the woman suffered any injuries.

He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
