The Laker Cheer team had a big weekend, finishing as runner-up in the Game Day and Traditional categories at region competition in Paducah.
With the runner-up finishes, Russell County will advance to state competition.
Russell County has had a squad advance to the state cheerleading championships for 45 straight years.
