Coming off a strong performance in he regional competition this past weekend that saw the Laker Band take first place, Russell County Band Director Curtis Ervin said he’s proud of the work the band staff put into developing this year’s show.
This year’s show is titled Lovestruck. Ervin was a guest on Community Conversation on WJRS yesterday, and discussed how the band’s shows are created each year.
He noted that he’s hands-on with the creation of the show each year, and it’s a collaborative effort with himself and members of the band staff.
With the first place finish in regionals, the Laker Band advances to state semi-finals this Saturday. If the Laker Band finishes in the top 6 of the semifinals, they’ll advance to the Class AAA state finals Saturday night.
