The hot temperatures and high humidity can lead to heat-related illness.
Residents are reminded to drink plenty of fluids and stay in air-conditioned areas as much as possible. Residents are also reminded to check on their neighbors and those who do not have air-conditioning, particularly the elderly, children, and those with chronic illness.
It is recommended to limit strenuous activity to the early morning or late evening hours.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments for those who work outdoors.
The heat advisory remains in effect through tomorrow evening. The advisory includes Russell, Adair, Casey, Cumberland and Clinton counties.
