Adair man charged for drug possession, promoting contraband in jail

An Adair County man has been charged with drug possession and promoting contraband while lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.

Columbia Police say they were called yesterday to investigate a complaint at the jail, and later charged 48-year-old Mark Shawn Hatcher with promoting contraband first degree and possession of methamphetamine.

Hatcher was arrested Sunday on charges including terroristic threatening third degree.

Hatcher was transported to the Russell County Detention Center yesterday afternoon.
