Juneteenth Holiday Closings

There are multiple closings to report in recognition of the Juneteenth holiday tomorrow.

Local post offices will be closed Thursday, so there will be no mail delivery.

Several banks in Russell County will be closed.

Russell Springs City Hall, The Russell County Courthouse and all Somerset Community College locations will be closed Thursday as well.

Jamestown City Hall will be opened tomorrow.

Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th each year, is also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day. The day marks when the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free.
