A Russell Springs man was identified as the victim in a fatal moped crash in Laurel County last week.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said 58-year-old Thomas Williams was operating a moped southbound on U.S. 25 a couple miles outside of London when it was struck from behind.
Williams was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the moped reportedly fled from the scene following the collision. He was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a death.
