Higginbotham receives Russell Springs Anchor Award

Brenda Higginbotham was the recipient of the Russell Springs Anchor Award at this month’s city council meeting.

Mayor Eddie Thomas said the award is similar to the Kentucky Colonel recognition. Anchor recipients are recognized for work they do in the community.

Thomas spoke to WJRS News about why Higginbotham was chosen for the award.

The city said they plan to honor six individuals with these awards this year.
