Clinton County native tabbed by Governor to lead state’s medical cannabis office

A Clinton County native has been tabbed by Governor Andy Beshear to be the next executive director of the Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis.

Cannon Armstrong will take over the position effective June 1.

Armstrong will head the office that oversees all aspects of medical cannabis in Kentucky, from growing to processing and dispensing. Medical cannabis became legal in Kentucky at the beginning of the year.

Armstrong is the son of former Clinton County Judge/Executive Richard Armstrong and Joy Armstrong. He now resides in Lexington.
