Branscum carries college NIL bill in state house

Representative Josh Branscum carried the state legislature’s collegiate athletics Name, Image, and Likeness Bill in the state house.

Senate Bill 3, which updates and modernizes the state’s framework for Name, Image, and Likeness requirements for college athletes, passed in the state senate by a unanimous vote.

Branscum carried the bill in the state house, where it also received a unanimous vote.

The bill now heads to the Governor for approval. The bill contains an emergency clause. That means it would go into effect immediately if signed into law by Governor Beshear.
