Students graduating from Russell County High School and across the state may soon be required to pass a financial literacy course before graduating.
House Bill 342 is making its way through the state legislature. The bill would create a one-credit graduation financial literacy requirement for all high school juniors and seniors.
The course would include topics such as budgeting, investing, credit, and insurance, among others.
The bill has not yet went before a full vote in the House of Representatives.
