The Russell County Lady Lakers fell to South Laurel at home last night by a score of 56-41.
Addy Abrell led Russell County with 14 points, 4 assists, and 5 steals. Carigann Carpenter came off the bench and scored 8 points for the Lady Lakers, finishing 3-3 from the field and had a pair of blocked shots.
Last night was senior night for three Lady Laker players: Rachel Bolin, Karley Luttrell, and Addison Hart.
In a special moment, Bolin, who suffered a season-ending knee injury a little over two weeks ago, was in the starting lineup and was able to score the first basket of the game for the Lady Lakers before subbing out.
The Lakers will be at home tonight, hosting Danville for senior night.
Seniors on this year’s Laker Basketball team are Owen Loy, Mayes Gosser, Logan Walters, and Kaden Coffey.
Tip-off for tonight’s game between the Lakers and Admirals has been moved up to start at around 5 p.m. due to possible winter weather entering the area.
