Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Barber was one of the recipients of the Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards.
Barber was recognized at a ceremony in Lexington with hundreds of officers from across the state.
Barber had the most impaired driving arrests for the department in 2024.
According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, last year in Kentucky there were more than 4,300 total crashes involving an impaired driver, resulting in more than 2,000 injuries and 181 deaths.
