Lake Cumberland Area Development District recently received a national award for its work with making improvements to the homes of senior citizens in the area.
The district received an Aliceann Wohlbruck NADO Impact Award for its work on the Lake Cumberland Older Adults Home Modification Program.
The program provides minor home repairs and modifications to improve safety and functionality for low-to-moderate income senior citizens in the Lake Cumberland area. These services are provided at no cost to eligible senior homeowners.
Impact Award recipients are selected by the National Association of Development Organizations. Representatives from the local district were invited to New Orleans to receive the award.
