The Columbia Police Department issued a release earlier this week announcing they will be assisting with calls in Adair County.
Columbia Mayor Pam Hoots and Police Chief Evan Burton announced they will assist the Adair County Sheriff’s Office within this “County of Emergency Situation” by answering emergency complaints only in Adair County.
City officials say the assistance will begin tomorrow and remain for the next 30 days, ending Oct. 1.
