The Mighty Laker Marching Band gets its season underway today as the band will participate in the annual Mark Twain Exhibition in Columbia today.
The annual exhibition brings bands from across the area for a preseason exhibition.
Russell County will participate, with the Laker Band set to hit the field at 7 this evening.
Opening ceremonies at Adair County High School get underway at 5:15.
Other area bands participating in the exhibition include Casey County, Metcalfe County, Cumberland County, and Adair County, among others.
