Human remains were reportedly found in Clinton County recently after a resident in the Cartwright community found a human skull in a ravine behind their house.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call last Sunday, and according to a report in the Clinton County News, law enforcement believes the remains belong to a man identified as Tony Smith.
Smith has reportedly been missing for several months and lived about 100 yards from where the remains were found.
The body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office for identification.
The investigation is ongoing by the Clinton County Coroner and Sheriff’s offices.
