Both the cities of Jamestown and Russell Springs have approved increases in funding for the interlocal E-911 agreement.
At each of the last city council meetings, the city councils in Jamestown and Russell Springs approved motions to increase funding in a new interlocal agreement, jumping from $25,000 to $35,000.
The cities approved the funds, but are looking for the county to approve a clause in the agreement that the funding requests from the cities will stay the same for the next 3-5 years.
The county will likely take up the issue at the next fiscal court meeting, which is scheduled for February 12, but the fiscal court could hold a special-called meeting before then if needed.
