Lady Laker Volleyball wins Rockcastle Invitational

The Russell County Lady Laker Volleyball team came away as the winners of the Rockcastle Invitational Tournament this weekend.

The Lady Lakers defeated Garrard County, Boyle County, and Wayne County to finish unbeaten in pool play on Friday and Saturday.

In tournament play on Saturday, the Lady Lakers won 2-1 over Madison Southern in the opening round, then followed that with a 2-0 win over Wayne County in the tournament semifinals.

In the finals, the Lady Lakers went up against the tournament host Rockcastle County, coming away with a 2-0 win.

Avery Hart was named the MVP of the opening round and semifinals matches, while Lauren White was named MVP of the finals.
