Several arrested in local drug roundup

Multiple Russell County residents were arrested in a drug roundup stemming from sealed indictments last week.

Officers with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Russell Springs Police Department, and Jamestown Police Department, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and County Attorney’s Office, began making arrests at around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Among those arrested were:

  • Presley A. Pickard, age 21 of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.
  • Dalton Goodson, age 20 of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.
  • Richard Rodgers and Jessica Helm, both of Russell Springs, charged with multiple counts of trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Rodgers and Helm were both indicted last week, but were not included in the sealed indictments.
  • Douglas Alexander, age 42 of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Mistie Collins, age 44 of Russell Springs, charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in methamphetamine, and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Tiffany Carroll, age 25 of the Mt. Eden community, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Jeremy R. Boutwell, of Columbia, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston said the roundup is ongoing and more arrests are forthcoming.

Deputies Corey Meyer and Ron Golden are leading the investigation for the sheriff’s office.
