Cap on insulin co-pays now in effect

The Kentucky legislature passed a bill last year placing a co-pay cap on insulin.

The law went into effect at the beginning of the year.

All insulin paid for through a private health insurance plan will have a co-pay of no more than $30 a month for a 30 day supply.

This cap does not apply to Medicaid or Medicare plans, which are federally managed.
