Russell Springs’ multi-million dollar water line replacement and improvement project is now about three-fourths complete, with completion scheduled for December 14th.
Allen McQueary with Russell Springs Utilities provided an update to Mayor Eddie Thomas and the city council during Thursday evening’s regular monthly meeting.
McQueary reported crews have about 900 feet of work remaining in the area of Hometown Tire on Jamestown Street. He also said the neighborhood behind Jax’s convenience store has been added to the water line improvement project. The latest update puts the project on track for completion by December 14th.
The city’s cast iron, asbestos, and concrete water line replacement project is being funded through a grant of more than $2 million awarded to the city.
