The Russell County Lady Lakers recently showcased their talents on the state stage.
The Lady Lakers competed in the All-State Tournament at the University Club of Kentucky, playing 36 holes over two days against 15 teams from across the Commonwealth.
Carly Shearer led Russell County on Saturday with a 79, followed closely by Carleen Meyers with an 80. On Sunday, Meyers paced the team with a 79, while Catherine Wright shot an 88.
The Lady Lakers finished 10th overall in the prestigious tournament.
Meyers continued her strong play Monday at the 2A Girls Golf Championship in Owensboro. Competing against 54 of the state’s top golfers, the Russell County senior fired a six-over-par 78 to earn an impressive fourth-place finish.
