The fiscal year for the City of Russell Springs concluded yesterday, and last night, the city council approved the city’s amended budget for the 25-26 fiscal year.
Russell Springs Mayor Eddie Thomas said the city’s department heads deserve credit, as each department came in under budget for the year. The council also approved an amendment to the holiday schedule, as city hall will be closed this Friday, as well as the following Monday for the Independence Day holiday.
The city has an estimated carryover of $4.1 million across every department.
