Russell County Schools moving to 4 days per week preschool

Russell County Schools will be transitioning to a four-day week for preschool students beginning next school year.

The board of education approved the change at its meeting last week.

Superintendent Michael Ford said it’s a change the district is excited about.

School officials say the transition to a four-day week will improve kindergarten readiness for preschool students and improve social and emotional growth for students.

The change was approved unanimously by the school board.
