A Wayne County student is facing charges after allegedly leaving a threatening note inside a restroom at Wayne County High School.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said a 15-year-old student allegedly left a note that stated they had a bomb and a gun on the wall of the restroom. Authorities say the back side of the note had a message that read “April Fools.”
Students were moved to the gymnasium as a precaution while an investigation took place.
The sheriff’s office said the student has been charged with terroristic threatening first degree, a Class C felony.
Authorities say they determined the threat was not credible, and no students or staff were in danger.
