Some upgrades are coming to the Greasy Creek Park project as part of a Trail Town grant received by the Lake Cumberland Tourism office.
Tourism Director Danielle Wilson told the fiscal court this week the grant will provide funding for bike benches, receptacles, 12-foot benches with legs in concrete, handicap-accessible picnic tables, and signage at the entrance. This will also include way finding signage that will point people toward restaurants and other points of interest in Jamestown.
Judge-Executive Randy Marcum said the county also plans to place security cameras in the area as well to deter vandalism.
Marcum said he’s excited with the progress at the site and looking forward to it being utilized this summer.
Wilson added during the meeting the $30,000 grant received by the tourism office will cover most of the cost of these additions and signage.
