The owners of Shogun Restaurant appeared at the Russell Springs City Council meeting last night, reaffirming their commitment to build a restaurant in the city.
The owners, Harlan Judd and Ronnie Salvador, said despite several delays in the project, they plan to begin work on the restaurant in the spring.
Judd said he and Salvador have spent a considerable amount of money already on the project and plan to follow through on the original plans.
Judd said the structural beams for the building have already been ordered, as another piece of evidence of their commitment to the project.
The city council approved a new contract with Judd & Salvador for the sale of the property since the previous contract recently expired. That new contract was unanimously approved by the council.
Mayor Eddie Thomas told WJRS News the city is excited for the restaurant to be built, despite the delays.
Judd said no firm date has been set but he expects construction to begin in May, and he expects the build to take approximately 10 months.
