Russell County Judge-Executive Randy Marcum said county road workers and volunteers from across the county have been busy clearing downed trees from the winter storm.
Marcum said current conditions make it difficult to salt or plow roads, and downed trees from the ice have been a significant issue.
Marcum told WJRS News Russell County has an excellent group of people who have spent a lot of time and energy trying to help out their neighbors and fellow members of the community.
Marcum also mentioned the county fire departments as groups of people that have been excellent to work with in the midst of the winter storm.
