Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford is reminding parents that non-NTI days must be made up during the school year.
Russell County Schools is utilizing NTI the remainder of the week, but yesterday and Monday were non-NTI days where students were not in the classroom.
Ford said those days have to be added back into the calendar, as required by state law.
The calendar model used by Russell County Schools requires 170 instructional days during the school year, and there are no built-in snow days.
Ford said the state legislature could take action to waive these requirements due to the inclement weather across a significant portion of the state, but for now, those requirements remain in place.
