Bradshaw to run for District Judge

A Russell Countian has entered the race for District Judge in the 40th District, Division 2.

Local attorney Athena Cooper Bradshaw filed paperwork yesterday to seek election to the judge seat.

Wayne County Attorney Tom Simmons and Lee Whittenburg, an attorney from Monticello, have also filed to run for the seat.

Current District Judge, Mike Lawson, is reportedly not planning to seek reelection.

The 40th District includes Russell, Wayne and Clinton counties.
