Sheriff’s office responded to more than 450 calls last month

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 450 calls for service last month.

Deputies made 25 arrests during the month of October, responded to 10 domestic calls and performed 91 traffic stops.

The sheriff’s office responded to 26 traffic collisions, provided 22 motorist assists, answered 5 alarm calls and 6 animal complaints.

Deputies performed 18 welfare checks and responded to 16 suspicious person complaints.

Deputies served 99 court papers and performed 3 mental health transports.

The sheriff’s office collected almost $9.5 million in property taxes last month.
