Several local candidates filed to run for office next year.
Judge-Executive Randy Marcum filed for reelection, as did Sheriff Derek Polston, County Attorney Kevin Shearer, Jailer Bobby Dunbar, Coroner Mark Coots, PVA Tim Popplewell and County Clerk Patti Glover.
Several incumbent magistrates and constables also filed for reelection. Those include 2nd District Magistrate Mickey Garner, 3rd District Magistrate Zach Wilson, 4th District Magistrate Steve Richardson and 5th District Magistrate Larry Skaggs.
Incumbent constables Paula Glover Mann in District 2 and Richard Wooldridge in District 5 also filed for reelection.
Yesterday also saw Amy Riggins Melson file to run for county clerk and Jeff Hancock to run for sheriff.
Although they won’t be on the ballot until next November, yesterday also saw candidates file to run for Mayor in Jamestown and Russell Springs.
Brian Young filed to run for Mayor of Jamestown.
Russell Springs Mayor Eddie Thomas filed for reelection and Russell Springs City Council member Cody Wilson filed to seek the office of Mayor.
