The Russell County High School Soccer teams picked up victories in Tuesday action.
The Laker Soccer team hosted Campbellsville, coming out on top by a score of 5-2.
Five different Lakers scored goals in the win. Olvin Vasquez, Rady Mendez, Luis Lopez, Diego Gomez, and Xavi Medrano each scored goals. Medrano led the team with 2 assists, and Xavion Russell had 5 saves as goalkeeper.
The Lady Lakers went on the road to Monroe County for a district matchup, coming out on top by a score of 5-1.
Addison Coffey led Russell County in that one with 3 goals. Madison Weisbrodt and Marissa Hatchett each added a goal, and Coffey and Weisbrodt each had an assist. The Lady Lakers combined for 12 saves, with 9 by Jasmine Bennett and 3 by Liz Evans.
The Lakers now sit at 5-2-1 on the season and will go on the road to Southwestern tomorrow.
