Staten will be new SRO at Salem Elementary

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston announced yesterday that Chandler Staten will be the new school resource officer at Salem Elementary.

Staten was sworn in to his new position yesterday.

He previously served with the Adair County Sheriff’s Office under former sheriff Josh Brockman for 5 years.

Deputy Chad Fox has been serving as the school resource officer at Salem to begin the school year after Deputy Corey Meyer resigned from the sheriff’s office earlier this month.

Staten will officially begin duty at Salem Elementary on Tuesday, September 2.
