The Laker Football team opened its season Friday night with a 32-9 win over Adair County at Lindsey Wilson University.
The Lakers were led by junior quarterback Tanner Stringer, who finished the day completing 14 of 19 passes for 150 yards and 1 touchdown. Stringer also rushed for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Kinnett Wills caught five passes for the Lakers for 34 yards. Jace Scaggs caught a pass for 35 yards and Alex Norton caught 3 passes for 30 yards.
Stringer also recorded two interceptions on defense and Alex Norton recorded another interception for the Lakers.
Jordan Beck led the Lakers with 8 tackles on the night.
The Lakers will be back in action this Friday night, going on the road again to take on the LaRue County Hawks, who opened their season with a 54-0 win over Thomas Nelson. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
