The Hoover family, a broadcasting legacy in south central Kentucky, will be inducted into the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and honored with the prestigious Mic Award in September for their decades of service and impact on local radio in Russell County and surrounding areas.
The Mic Award honors those who have made outstanding personal contributions to the broadcasting profession in Kentucky. Typically, this award is presented to individuals, with the likes of Bill Bryant, Tom Leach, Jim Host, Cawood Ledford, and others among the past recipients. This is the first time the award has been presented to a family.
This year, the Hoover family will be inducted into the KBA Hall of Fame along with Chris Allen from WNKY-TV, Nancy Cox from WLEX-TV, and Jeff Nalley from Cromwell Ag Network.
Chris Winkle, President and CEO of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association, said the Hoover Family has served the community for generations by way of local radio.

Awards will be presented on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Owensboro Convention Center in Owensboro.
