Grand jury indicts 23

A Russell County grand jury indicted 23 individuals this week.

Those indicted include the following individuals:

Edward Crump, age 69 of Russell Springs, was indicted on charges including wanton endangerment first degree, criminal mischief first degree, violation of a foreign EPO/DVO, four counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and persistent felony offender second degree.

Crump was arrested in July after he reportedly fired a gun into an occupied home on G Brown Road off Owenstown Road. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered Crump had 4 handguns, an AR-15, three shotguns, and numerous rounds of ammunition in his possession, despite having a lifetime protection order out of Florida banning him from buying or possessing firearms.

Jessica S. Garner, age 43 of Russell Springs, was indicted on charges of assault second degree and burglary second degree.

Matthew Popplewell, age 38 of Jamestown, was indicted on charges including assault second degree, two counts of assaulting a police officer, assault fourth degree, alcohol intoxication, resisting arrest, terroristic threatening and menacing.

Landon Booth, age 19 of Russell Springs, was indicted on a charge of assault second degree.

John Lloyd, age 57 of Russell Springs, was indicted on charges of terroristic threatening second degree, disorderly conduct second degree, and criminal trespassing third degree. According to the indictment, on July 30, Lloyd entered the Russell County Public Library and allegedly threatened to kill other individuals at the library.

Brenda Martin, age 50 of Russell Springs, charged with bail jumping first degree.

Irvin Herd, age 19 of Jamestown, charged with wanton endangerment first degree.

Richard H. Crockett, age 47 of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brandon Irvin, age 48, and Yevonda Popplewell, age 41, both of Russell Springs, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, shoplifting, and persistent felony offender.

Andrea H. Williams, age 42 of Russell Springs, charged with theft of an automobile valued over $10,000 and tampering with physical evidence.

Vickie Maynard, age 49 of Columbia, charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary, two counts of assault of a police officer, public intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and persistent felony offender first degree.

Frankie Travis McGowan, age 45 of Russell Springs, charged with driving under the influence – third offense, wanton endangerment first degree, and persistent felony offender first degree.

Carlos G. Lopez, age 22 of Russell Springs, charged with strangulation first degree and assault fourth degree.

Casey M. Glover, age 39 of Russell Springs, charged with driving under the influence first offense, possession of methamphetamine, and multiple traffic violations.

James E. Gossett, age 72 of Nancy, charged with driving under the influence second offense, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and multiple traffic violations.

William Shoemaker, age 25 of Monticello, charged with two counts of wanton endangerment first degree, fleeing and evading police first degree, speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the limit, reckless driving, and multiple other traffic violations.

Buddy Bernard, age 38 of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana – less than 8 ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, and persistent felony offender second degree.

Robbie Brown, age 54 of Russell Springs, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription controlled substance not in the proper container, and multiple traffic violations.

Tessie Stringer, age 28 of Monticello, charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dennis McWhorter, age 62 of Jamestown, charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeffrey L. Luttrell, age 51 of Dunnville, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, and prescription controlled substance not in the proper container.

Jeremy Boutwell, age 28 of Columbia, charged with wanton endangerment first degree, fleeing and evading police first degree, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance- second degree, and multiple traffic violations.
