Russell County was recently approved for over $200,000 in County Agricultural Incentives Program funds by the state ag development board.
The funds provide Kentucky agricultural producers cost-share assistance on practices that increase net farm income and opportunities to try new or innovative technologies.
Russell County Agriculture Extension Agent Jonathan Oakes provides more details on how some local farmers have utilized this program.
Oakes said there is an application process for local agriculture producers for the funds, with around 80-100 applications each year. Applications for the CAIP funds will be ready around the end of August.
