The Russell County School District is preparing to implement a new state law that will require a daily moment of silence and reflection at the beginning of each school day.
The law went into effect last month and will be implemented in schools across the state this coming school year.
Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford spoke to WJRS News about the new law and what it entails.
Parents can find more details in the student code of conduct, which is available here.
Ford encouraged parents to read over the code of conduct and discuss it with their child.
The law that requires the moment of silence and reflection was sponsored by State Senator Rick Girdler, who represents Russell County in the Kentucky Senate.
